The Assemblée Communautaire Fransaskoise asked one thing of us. Find out how to convince more students to enroll and remain in French language education in Saskatchewan. How to get young people to do anything? Make it cool. We came up with the overwhelmingly popular and decidedly cheeky slogan “I Don’t Excuse My French” and implemented it on a new website, posters, screen savers,T-shirts and other handouts. So? How did our famously non committal target audience respond? By increasing enrollment in francophone schools by an astounding 5% and 2.5% in French immersion school in spite of a declining province-wide student population.
